Mothers Day Ecards - How Are They Different Than Father’s Day Ecards?

Tip! A traditional Mothers Day gift will always remind your mother of the traditional values she raised you with. A gift of flowers could either be a beautiful cut bouquet of mom’s favorite flowers in her favorite color, or it could also be a living plant with beautiful flowers that your mother can enjoy every day for years to come.

Creating and selecting ecards or greeting cards is an art. Ecards are used for different occasions. To wish Mother on Mother’s Day, to wish Birthday to a dear person or to convey Good Luck. Similarly ecards are designed for Father’s Day also. Both mother and Father are parents, but the ecards are very different for both. Why and How? Let us examine.

For most of the children, mother is always closer. The child looks at mother’s face and feels her body most during the infant days. That makes the child recognize mother as a protector and provider. During the early days of growth, children don’t interact with father more. It is only after they grow up a little that fathers get more interested and involved with children. During the initial infancy, most of the fathers don’t play with their children much as they don’t know what the child wants and how to communicate.

As child grows, father becomes a major figure. Father takes the child outdoors, teaches him/her fishing, plays with them and is always there to guide and protect with the physical activities of the child. Mother is still very much involved as a provider of comfort and food. Children rush to their mother when hurt during the early growth. As they grow more, both father and mother come to occupy equal space in the child’s mind. And as a child grows to an adult, he/she develops own personality.

Tip! Mom will love a gift basket filled with an assortment of stress relieving goodies to pamper herself on Mothers Day or anytime she needs to relax. Some ideas of what you can include in her Spa Basket are scented bath gel, bath salts, body lotions, candles, eye pillow, bath pillow and bath brush.

The ecards for Mother and father are supposed to depict these differences in words and designs. The ecards for mothers are soft in color and talk more of love and affection. The ecards for father are manlier and the language is designed to convey more of what father taught and how he guided. Both father and mother are important for a child’s growth and both play different roles. These are clearly seen in the ecards for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Mothers Day Crafts: Please Don’t Buy Another Uninspired Mothers Day Gift!

Tip! Give the gift of good health to your mom this Mothers Day with a membership to a Yoga class. Yoga is great for relaxation and flexibility as well as being a fun way to get fit and stay fit.

Most mothers wont admit to this, but they are often quite a bit disappointed with the mothers day gifts they receive.
Don’t get me wrong, all mothers will be very happy to receive their gifts, and they will be very grateful for them, but they can see how little thought goes into them.

Most mothers receive gifts like chocolates, candies, or flowers. If they are lucky they may receive a card, a basket, or some jewelry. I have this theory that the older we get, the more we spend on our mothers day gifts, but the less time and effort goes into the present!

But your mother doesn’t want you to spend money on her gift! Sure, she’ll be much happier receiving a gift, than receiving nothing at all, but your mum will be much more excited by a gift that takes some of your time, rather than your money.

Tip! Rituals such as Mother’s Day are also anchors to childhood for adolescents. Even teenagers tend to celebrate important days such as Mothers Days and birthdays in the same ways that they did when they were young.

Try asking your mother what the favourite mothers day gift she has ever received was. I’ll bet it’s something you made when you were a child. It could be a ridiculous looking card, or a painting, but it will be some type of craft that you made. Don’t be surprised if she cherished it, and still has it in her wardrobe somewhere!

Well, why not make something for a mothers day present this year? You don’t have to be a child to make mothers day crafts- and you don’t really need to be that creative or crafty either. There are many things you can make that will look great, but won’t be hard to make.

There are lots of different mothers day crafts, but perhaps one of the easiest things to make would be your own mothers day card. If you’re good at drawing, or handy with graphical software on the computer, why not make your own card? Your mother will love you for it!

Are you good at scrapbooking? If so, then how about doing some scrapbooking, and making your mother her own personalised scrap book for this mothers day? There are lots of things you could scrapbook on, from events in the previous year, a summary of your mothers life up to this point, or a scrapbook of the entire family. I guarantee this will go down a treat!

Tip! So now you know, the secret to the perfect Mothers Day Gift is simply choose the photo or photos, log on and your personalised gift is but a click away. Oh and don’t forget the hug and kiss because you’re sure to receive some back from her with possibly a few tears.

Another thing you could do is make bouquets. For this mothers day, I am making some really cute looking candy bouquets. They cost almost nothing to make, look fantastic, and didn’t really take that long either. And I know what candies my mother likes, so I know she’ll enjoy pulling off bits to eat!

The important thing is to just think of some craft that you’re handy at and give it a go. Trust me when I say that your mother will appreciate mothers day crafts you have made, MUCH more than another insipid mothers day gift!

So this mothers day, please don’t buy another boring present. Why not try your hand at some mothers day crafts instead?

Cookie Bouquets: How To Make A Great Mothers Day Gift

This year, instead of giving your mom a boring mothers day gift, how about making her a cookie bouquet? They are really quick and easy to make, and look great.

The best thing about making a cookie bouquet, is that your mom will absolutely
love you! Cookie bouquets are appreciated all year round, but they make a
particularly great mothers day gift, because your mom will know you have spent
time on it, rather than just going to the store and spending 2 minutes looking for
some chocolate to buy :)

Tip! You see mothers day or any other day can be made more personal when you put some careful thought into your gift idea.

Many cookie bouquets are basic, and only have cookies in them. I like to add a bit
more style to my bouquets, so I’m going to show you how to make a more fancy
cookie bouquet, using leaves and candies as well.

Tip! So this mothers day, please don’t buy another boring present.

You will need:

- 9 Large choc-chip cookies
- 7 Wrapped candies
- Floristry wire
- Cellophane (Any color, although I use clear)
- Ribbon
- Stem-tape
- 15 Leaves

*** Step 1: Wire and tape the leaves ***

Start by wiring and taping the leaves…

You wire a silk leaf by pushing the floristry wire through the silk part of the leaf,
behind the stem. Then loop it around, and go back through the leaf, and then bend
the wire back down.

To stem-tape the wire, hold it in your left hand, and then wrap the stem tape
around the wire with the other hand. Make sure that you stem-tape right up to the
top of the leaf, otherwise it will look ugly.

*** Step 2: Prepare cookies to be added to the cookie bouquet ***

You don’t need to wrap the cookies, but I like to, because it helps to keep them
fresh. I would rather have a cookie bouquet that doesn’t have to be eaten straight
away, so that people can leave it on the table for everyone to look at, without
worrying about the cookies going stale.

Cut the cellophane into 9 squares. Make sure the cellophane squares are large
enough to wrap around the cookies.

Next wrap the cookies in the cellophane, and twist the end.

Then wire and tape the cellophane, and snip off any excess cellophane.

*** Step 3: Prepare the candies to be added to the cookie bouquet ***

Wire and stem tape the candies. Depending on the different candies you used, you
might have to wrap the candies in cellophane, similar to how the cookies were
prepared.

*** Step 4: Fan the cookies out in the bouquet ***

Hold the cookies in a bunch in one hand. Then bend out the wire slightly, to fan out
the cookies. This will leave spaces for the leaves, which we will add in the the next
step…

Tip! Another thing you could do is make bouquets. For this mothers day, I am making some really cute looking candy bouquets.

*** Step 5: Fill in the cookies bouquet with leaves ***

Place the leaves in the gaps in the bouquet. Fan out the leaves, so that they make a
circular shape. Then squeeze the bouquet together a little. (But not too tight, as we
still need to put the candies in…)

*** Step 6: Add the candies to the cookie bouquet ***

Fill in any remaining gaps with the candies prepared in step 3. Try and keep the
bouquet symmetrical, but don’t worry about making it perfect… a little un-evenness
will make the cookie bouquet seem more natural.

*** Step 7: Tape the handle ***

To finish the cookie bouquet, just trim the ends of the wires in the handle to an
even length, and then stem-tape the handle.

That’s it, a cookie bouquet ready to give your mom. Write out a greeting on a
mothers day card, and then give your mom the card, the cookie bouquet, and a kiss
on the cheek, and I’ll guarantee you’ll be in her good books for a few months to
come!
