Choosing The Perfect Mothers Day Card For 2010

Although Mothers Day 2010 is a few months away, after you’ve planned the perfect mothers day gift,  you will need to find a really nice Mothers Day card to finish off your gift for the woman dearest to your heart. With all the different Mother’s Day cards to choose from, how do you pick the best one?

Luckily, there are some ways you can pick out an excellent one from the many special cards that are available. Don’t forget that  with Christmas falling shortly you could create a special Christmas Mother Day card to show how much you love her.

A Christmas Mother’s Day gift basket would be great to make  her smile and feel special. The gift basket could be filled with a variety of items that will make a mother very happy.  The basket could have a potpourri which could include some sweet smelling soap, some great lotions and some bubble bath.  The items could also include items such as chocolates, cookies and cake. A basket could perhaps include something useful  like a new universal remote control, a program for her computer and a couple of tickets to the latest theater production.

About Mother’s Day Cards

A Mothers Day card is the perfect way for you to express how special your mother is to you. The kind of Mothers Day card you choose depends on many different factors, but most importantly is should be based on how her year leading up to Mothers Day has been.

For example, if your mother’s year has been rather difficult so far, it wouldn’t be the best idea to get her one of those Mother’s Day cards that has the serious prose in it. Rather, get her a humorous Mother’s Day card that has a “how did you ever put up with the antics of us kids” theme or a witty mothers day poem.

If your mother has had a good year, then it really depends on the sentiment that you want to express. There are  cards that are quite fancy, with long prose in them, and there are other quite simple ones, in which you can write your own mothers day poem to express your devotion and love for her.

It would be a good idea, though, if the card matched the mothers day gift in some way. For example, if you got her an expensive gift, then the Mothers Day card that accompanies it should also be rather fancy. However, if you got her a simple gift, you can get more of a fancy card or just a simple card, whatever you think is the best choice.

Another option is to make your own special card for Mothering Sunday. This then is a very personal appreciation of your mother. All you need is some construction paper, some markers, and some ideas. For the front of your mothers day card, include a favorite picture of you and your mother. You could always look on the internet for ideas.

Talking about the internet you can also send her an e-card if she also has a computer. E-cards are fun to send, because not only can you personalize them, but you can also choose animated cards. Choosing the right Mothers Day card can indeed be quite a daunting task, but with patience, you are sure to find the perfect mothers day card.

Low Cost Gifts for Mom on Mothers Day

Tip! Try asking your mother what the favourite mothers day gift she has ever received was. I’ll bet it’s something you made when you were a child.

You don’t have a lot of money to spend this year for her, but you want something special for your mom. Here are some ideas that will take little or nothing to get or make.

A photo album is always nice to have around the house. So if you have many photos that have never made into an album, here is your chance to do something very special and it won’t cost but a few dollars to do.

Go to your local thrift store and look for some old binders and some nice fabric, if you don’t have any at home. Then all you need is some pages that you can put your photos on. Decorate the binder for Mother’s Day and decorate the pages with the pictures on them with captions, buttons, lace, and charms, sort of like a scrapbook. This way the picture get put into an album and you make a inexpensive Mother’s Day gift for your mom.

Here are some silly but lovable and low cost gifts for mom, that are both meant to be funny or personal or both. She would treasure them for ever.

If she is a coffee or tea drinker then a Paint Your Own Mug would an excellent choice, with a painting done in your very hand, every time she takes a drink she will remember the time and love put into this wonderful gift, she would be the envy of all her friends.

Tip! So now you know, the secret to the perfect Mothers Day Gift is simply choose the photo or photos, log on and your personalised gift is but a click away. Oh and don’t forget the hug and kiss because you’re sure to receive some back from her with possibly a few tears.

Now with this handy kit, she can be paid for being a football widow. As referee, she is in charge! Getting ignored? Yellow Card! Got his mates over again? Red Card! Each card carries a penalty for the family from simply doing the laundry to taking her on a holiday - let the punishment fit the crime….

Mom is afraid of spiders and other bugs? The Spider Catcher is an innovative new product which uses two sets bristles to gently catch the spider, carefully trapping it until you release it outside.

Tip! Another thing you could do is make bouquets. For this mothers day, I am making some really cute looking candy bouquets.

With a trigger at one end and the bristles at the other, there is no need for Mom to spend nights on the couch because a spider has decided to move into the bedroom!

What do Mothers Really Want for Mothers Day?

Tip! Give the gift of good health to your mom this Mothers Day with a membership to a Yoga class. Yoga is great for relaxation and flexibility as well as being a fun way to get fit and stay fit.

Would it be likely to be slippers, nightwear, soaps, candles, kitchen wear or maybe cleaning products? I DON’T THINK SO!

Mums, deservedly so want that once a year hug, cuddle, kiss and gift of appreciation. Mums work hard, they often put themselves last and everyone else first. I suppose that’s one of the reasons we why we love them so much.

Now how do we show that love?

A meaningful gift is a personal gift. Something off the rack from the closest shop doesn’t usually say it. Falling into the consumer trap of buying from the range of “suitable mothers day gifts” also probably won’t leave you feeling like you have really expressed your love and gratitude the way your Mum deserves.

No, what you really need is a gift that will be personal and cherished. Sound hard? Well fortunately with today’s technology and the Internet it’s actually very easy.

Most of us these days have access to digital camera’s of one form or another. This means many family and memorable moments both organized and candid get caught as quality images. This is what you take advantage of.

What family moment best represents love and joy to Mum?

Found it, or probably them. (In fact lots of them). Make a choice, go to the computer, log on and go to a company that reproduces those treasured photos into personalized gifts your Mum will love.

Tip! A traditional Mothers Day gift will always remind your mother of the traditional values she raised you with. A gift of flowers could either be a beautiful cut bouquet of mom’s favorite flowers in her favorite color, or it could also be a living plant with beautiful flowers that your mother can enjoy every day for years to come.

The selection of products available range from reproductions onto canvas which usually includes a modern box frame, to things like cushions (both indoor and outdoor for bed/couch or balcony/patio), quality carry bags for shopping trips or beach days to wine bags. You can even have a favourite photo reproduced to look like a painting and printed onto canvas just like you have commissioned an artist to paint your photo, however you won’t still be paying for it next mothers day.

Tip! So this mothers day, please don’t buy another boring present.

So now you know, the secret to the perfect Mothers Day Gift is simply choose the photo or photos, log on and your personalised gift is but a click away. Oh and don’t forget the hug and kiss because you’re sure to receive some back from her with possibly a few tears.
